Studio & Production Manager
Podimo is one of the fastest-growing podcast and audiobook platforms in Europe, and we are now looking for a highly driven Studio & Production Manager to strengthen our team in Berlin.
If you’re passionate about podcasts and video content, thrive in structured environments, and love being the person who truly owns and shapes the studio, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
This is the role
No matter how captivating the content or how charismatic the hosts, a podcast stands and falls with its production quality – and that’s where you come in.
As our Studio & Production Manager, you’re the go-to expert for ensuring that every sound is crisp, every frame is sharp, and every session runs smoothly. You combine technical excellence in audio and video with strong ownership of workflows, studio infrastructure, and production logistics.
Most of our in-house productions are video podcasts, so this role requires hands-on expertise in camera, lighting, video capture and basic visual framing. You’ll collaborate with our internal videographer but be independently responsible for the technical setup and execution of multi-camera podcast shoots.
This is not just about operating the gear – it’s about owning the space, the structure, and the standard. And with our new Berlin office and two purpose-built podcast studios currently under construction, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape how we record, produce, and deliver premium podcast content going forward.
Your main responsibilities:
Studio Operations:
- Schedule studio time for in-house productions
- Act as the responsible sound and video technician during recordings
- Set up and operate cameras, lighting, microphones, and other recording equipment
- Guide creators to capture strong audio and video content
- Coordinate and oversee recording sessions, from setup to teardown
- Develop and implement sound design, rough and fine editing of podcast episodes
- Mix and master audio and video content
- Maintain a structured and secure system for file storage and backups
- Ensure the studio space is always clean, organized, and ready for recording
Studio Management:
- Take ownership of the studio setup, infrastructure, and daily operations
- Maintain and upgrade studio equipment (microphones, mixing consoles, video and lighting gear, recording software, etc.)
- Set up and continuously improve studio workflows and documentation systems
- Create and manage production schedules and budgets
- Order necessary materials and coordinate equipment rentals
- Oversee post-production processes for both audio and video (incl. freelancers or internal editors)
- Coordinate a network of freelancers to enable parallel productions
- Collaborate closely with the internal videographer and cross-functional teams
This is you
- At least 3 years of experience in a studio environment (recording studio, content production, broadcasting, etc.)
- Training as a media designer for sound and image or equivalent qualification
- Strong hands-on knowledge of camera operation, lighting, and audio recording techniques
- Proficiency in media production software for audio and video post-production (e.g. Cubase, ProTools, Adobe Premiere, Audition)
- Highly organized, proactive, and confident in owning end-to-end processes
- Ability to handle multiple productions simultaneously and keep a clear overview
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for podcasts, video content, and creative production environments
- Strong sense of ownership and initiative, with a structured and solutions-focused mindset
This is the hiring process
We invite you to show us why you are the perfect candidate for our new Studio & Production Manager role, and this is how to make your application stand out:
- Tailor your resume to the position you’re applying for. Highlight your relevant experiences, technical skills, and structured mindset.
- Tell us about your experience with video podcasts, technical setups, and production workflows.
- Skip the fancy photos - we prefer a well-written resume that tells a compelling story about your motivation and how you thrive in a work environment.
If your application is shortlisted, the process will follow these steps:
- Initial Screening via phone or video call (30 minutes).
- First Interview (45 minutes with the hiring manager).
- Case Study (1 hour with key collaboration partners).
- Final Interview (30 minutes with hiring manager / or TA partner).
We may adjust the process to ensure each stage aligns with the specific requirements of this role. Our primary goal is to provide a seamless and enjoyable interview experience for you as a candidate.
These are the benefits
- Up to six months of fully paid parental leave for all new parents - no matter how you identify or where in the world you live.
- ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) for all employees
- Free online therapy sessions through We.Care
- Learning and personal development opportunities to help you thrive in a fast-paced, creative industry and expand your skills
- Flexible working hours and the option to work remotely
- The chance to make a meaningful impact in an international company and see your work pay off immediately
- Delicious lunches with great colleagues + free snacks, fruit and drinks in the office
