Senior Analytics Engineer
We are one of the fastest-growing podcast and audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for an ambitious Senior Analytics Engineer to join us and take ownership of delivering scalable and reliable data solutions to support Finance operations.
This is the role
At Podimo, data is at the centre of nearly everything we do; guiding decisions and fueling our business processes. This is where you come into the picture!
In this role, you’ll join our BI team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining our company-wide data platform. The team works across the entire organisation to enable data-driven decision-making and automation at scale.
You will be collaborating with business teams, analytics engineers, and data engineers to bring scalable, reliable, and efficient data models, BI interfaces, and self-service solutions to life — all in support of Finance operations.
Our team offers a casual atmosphere with excellent opportunities for growth and impact, and you will in this position get the chance to play a key part in shaping and continuously evolving how Podimo works with data and analytics.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Collaborating with teams across Finance and Content to understand their needs and translate them into effective data solutions
- Utilizing dbt, SQL, BigQuery, and Looker/LookML to model and transform data
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, visualizations, and self-service tools that empower stakeholders to gain insights and make data-driven decisions
- Taking ownership of the data pipelines and reporting that support recurring financial reporting and creator payouts
- Provide data modeling expertise to team members through code reviews and pairing to help deliver optimal and scalable designs
- Driving the adoption and effective application of data tools by educating business users on their usage
- Ensuring that data solutions are supported by high-quality documentation and thorough testing, fostering trust, maintainability, and auditability
This is you
You take pride in building and maintaining high-quality data solutions and are motivated by creating real impact through data. You are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and thrive on collaborating with colleagues from across the business.
You enjoy solving problems, taking ownership, and continuously improving the systems and solutions you work with.
In more detail, you will thrive in this role if you have:
- Some years of experience working in BI, data or analytics engineering, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience with SQL, dbt, BigQuery, and data visualization tools (e.g. Looker)
- Strong proficiency in data modeling and a solid grasp of data warehousing principles
- Experience with version control tools like Git and collaborative development workflows
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement and learning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Previous experience supporting Finance teams and/or operations, with understanding of financial concepts (a strong plus, but not a requirement)
- Experience with Python and/or Airflow for scripting and workflow orchestration (a plus, but not required)
Naturally, being passionate about podcasts, audio content, and entertainment is a big plus!
These are the benefits
- ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) for all employees, no matter where in the world you live
- Learning and personal development opportunities to help you thrive and enrich your skills in a fast-paced creator economy
- Up to six months of fully paid parental leave for all new parents - no matter how you identify or where in the world you live
- Free online therapy sessions through We.Care
- Delicious lunch with great colleagues
- Free snacks, fruit, and drinks in the office
- Unlimited child sick days and the opportunity to work flexible hours and remotely
- Opportunity to make an impact at a growing international company and see your work pay off immediately
This is the hiring process
First things first: we ask you to submit your resume or provide a link to your LinkedIn profile. Sharing your motivation for the job is highly appreciated, but not expected.
If we pick your application to continue to the interview stage, this is how we plan to run the interview process:
- An initial conversation with a recruiter to set expectations
- A conversation (including a brief case) with the hiring manager
- A chat with some of your potential future team members and stakeholders
We might tweak the process to keep things smooth and enjoyable. We'll be conducting interviews continuously, aiming for a start date on November 1st latest.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
