Designer (culture, concept, motion-led)
We are one of the fastest-growing podcast and audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for a Designer (culture, concept, motion-led). Come and join us on our journey to enrich lives through listening.
This is the role
We’re looking for a brilliant Designer to support our Danish team on everything creatively.
As a designer for our shows in Podimo Denmark, you’re the go-to person for setting the directions and expressions of our ever-increasing catalogue of shows - from documentaries about underground fight clubs to a show with an ex-Danish Prime Minister.
You’ll take charge on building the visual worlds of these shows – leading with concept and executional excellence.
The role is based out of our buzzing HQ in Copenhagen and will report directly to our Creative Director, Ryan Sherman.
What you'll do:
Develop and pitch holistic visual worlds and guidelines for shows, including but not limited to cover art, logotypes, motion design elements, merchandise, colour pallet and typography.
Execute and design cover art, bespoke logotypes in still and motion, and material including merchandise, banners, playlist images and retouching photos.
Brief and direct photo and video shoots for trailers and activations for a wide range of media, including social, OOH + DOOH, video content for YouTube, and more.
Provide visual and motion graphics support to other Podimo markets to foster cross-market collaboration and ensure consistency.
Collaborate with a diverse, multi-faceted team to bring shows to life with a 360 mindset.
Translating this into actual day-to-day, this is how a normal day in the life of a Designer looks at Podimo:
9 am – 9-30 am: catching up on emails, Slack messages, and Notion tickets
9.30 am - 10 am: Kick-off + brainstorm meeting with show #1 that’s just joined Podimo
10 am - 11.30 am: prepping a moodboard + presentation for tomorrow for show #2
Lunch
12.30 pm - 1.30 pm: directing a photoshoot with talent, photographer, videographer and activation manager for show #3
2 pm - 4 pm: Starting to craft the artwork + logotype for show #1
4 pm - 5 pm: following up on emails, Slack messages, Notion tickets, prepping for the next day.
Sounds interesting? Please keep reading!
This is you
We’re looking for a versatile designer that can’t be boxed in. You have the cultural touch-points to know what works, and the range of tools to bring those ideas to life in still and in motion. You’re able to execute culturally relevant, distinct visual worlds that get people talking - whether it’s on the feed, YouTube, IRL or somewhere else entirely. Your imagination runs wild, but you can also craft a logotype, type-set for print, create strong guidelines for a dynamic visual identity.
Experience we’re looking for:
Minimum 4 years experience as a designer within culture, entertainment or media
Fluent in both Danish and English (written and spoken) as you will be working closely with our Danish team
Conceptual craft: able to sell-in and rationalise creative decisions with our talent and our editors, drawing upon culturally relevant movements and trends.
Executional craft: able to craft a visual identity + motion system, from a distinct logotype, to typography + font choice.
You can direct photoshoots, storyboard, and get stuff ready for print across out of home, merch and more.
You can work fast in a high-paced environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, hitting deadlines as needed.
Delegate design work and brief photographers + videographers.
Must be proficient with Figma, Adobe suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and in active experimentation with AI to supercharge the creative process.
Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!
